CITIZENS KIDNAPPED BY ERITREA ARE STILL LISTED AS "DISAPPEARED"

 As SOCEPP had reported in the past, many Ethiopians from the Adi- Irob region of Tigrai who had been kidnapped by Eritrea when its forces occupied Zalanbesa and Irob areas, are still listed as "disappeared". At the time, the number of such victims was put at 86 or more. Most of these people were heads of families, farmers and engaged in cattle rearing and as a result of their disappearance their families have been suffering ever since.

SOCEPP has now obtained the names of 52 of these "kidnapped and disappeared" and thus once again calls on all people, government and human rights bodies to demand that the Eritrean government accounts for the whereabouts of the ones mentioned below and the others kidnapped by its armed forces.  SOCEPP calls on the Eritrean government to account for the above who were all kidnapped by its armed forces. The real number of such victims is actually much more than cited above and they all need to be accounted for without any procrastination. SOCEPP calls on international bodies to follow the cases of these victims.
